With so many of us currently spending lots of time in the house, we’ve picked our favourite comfy clothes for working at home!
With over 9 million jobs currently furloughed and 35-40% of people working from home our usual work attire has gone out the window! There is plenty of research into the importance of getting dressed while working at home, however, there’s no judgement here if you choose to stay in your pyjamas all day! Whatever your preference, we’ve put together a selection of our favourite clothes for working at home. We believe working from home clothes should be the perfect combination of cute and comfy. Take a look at our top picks!
A dress might not seem like the obvious WFH outfit, but this jersey style is perfect to throw on! Available in a range of colours including purple and blue, this 90s style pinafore dress is ideal for layering. Pop a turtleneck underneath it if you’re feeling chilly. But if you need your working from home clothes to accommodate smarter looks for virtual meetings, it also looks super cute over a shirt or blouse too. They’re a relaxed, oversized AND they have pockets! Two large pockets on the front for storing pens, tissues or most importantly, snacks.
If you ask us, all clothes for working at home should have pockets. Next up we’ve got the dungarees from the same range so these do too! The block colour dungarees come in some gorgeous shades like the vibrant orange, candy pink and this cosy cinnamon shade. They’re 100% cotton so a nice breathable fabric. You don’t need to worry about them creasing if you prefer to do your work curled up on the sofa! The knotted straps are also really handy for adjusting the overall length of these dungarees. Working from home clothes should be comfortable, so having the option to adjust the length in the body ensures maximum comfort for you.
Just because we’re not seeing anyone doesn’t mean we can’t have snazzy clothes for working at home! The popular jersey dungarees also come in a range of tie dye prints too. Each one completely unique, these are the ideal garment for injecting some colour into your home working wardrobe. The beauty of these dungarees is they’re basically a whole outfit, so you don’t have to think too much about what you’re putting on in the morning. Just add one of your basics – t-shirt, sweater, shirt – and you’re ready to start the day. Pink and purple tops are crying out for these green and pink tie dye dungarees! (And if you finish your day with a celebratory glass of red, it doesn’t even matter if you spill a drop on these ones!)
Comfy pants are top of our list when it comes to clothes for working at home. An elasticated waistband is a godsend for comfort, and billowing palazzo pants are the perfect wfh outfit bottoms. We have the pale pink leopard print pants and powder blue too, both with a wide stretchy waistband. They’re super lightweight and have a wide leg so you’ll feel floaty and free all day in these. And if you’re looking for an equally cute top to go with these we’ve got a selection of colours in this oversized hoody! It has a sweet frill hem so way cuter than your average hoody.
Last on the list of clothes for working at home, we have some Compania Fantastica knitwear! A cardigan is as close as you can get to a dressing gown whilst actually getting dressed, so we love this spotted cardigan available in brown and cream with a deep v-neck and oversized fit. We also love their multicoloured stripe jumper with balloon sleeves that will definitely keep you cosy.
All of these clothes are ideal for being comfy around the house, but you’ll definitely get your wear out of them when we’re back at work and can get out more too! You can find tons more wearable items and working from home clothes online at www.thunderegg.co.uk
